Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Oh, really? I checked an hour or so ago, but couldnt find it.

goes to check

Search “Metroid Prime 3: Corruption First Hour”.

lol they used the word “damn”

and when the berserker got hit by the space ship, it was pretty funny

Lol, yeah, i noticed that. And the ship part was funny.

It’s interesting, they changed the name to Beserker"lord", not pirate. So does that mean they arent pirates? They prolly are, because they’re so similar to elites. I nearly teared when I saw him making shock waves by pounding the ground.

I love the way they changed Rundas’s voice. It used to be very wispy, and clever, now it’s alot more badass. They also changed what he said. So THAT’S when samus gets the grapple beam and command visor (both within about 10 minutes of each other). Not to mention they COMPLETELY changed the Ridley sequence. I wonder how they’ll do it.

Also, Importantly, it seems that a leviathen is headed toward sector zero, and instead of fighting ridley there like normal, you’ll do something before it. I wonder. I’m really looking forward to the final game now.

I like the voice acting. I was afraid it would be horribly done, but insofar I think that it’s halfway decent… if not particularly jaw-dropping.

Beyond that, the cinematic gameplay, while badass in it’s own right, has the potential for making the game a little linear. I hope Retro isn’t that stupid.

The new Hunters are okay. MPH had cooler hunters. /=

They said it wont be linear (other than the beggining), and I hope I beleive them. Honestly, I dont think they’ll make it too linear, though it’ll def be more linear than prime 2.

I think the cinematics add SO much more to the game though. I don’t really mind if it’s a little linear if you get badass cutscenes all the time.

I’d say MPH’s hunters werent as good as MP3’s. They were just too 2D. These hunters seem to have actual potential.
Rundas > all of MPH’s hunters.

Ah, you and I really like the Metroid series for opposite reasons. :frowning:

As long as they get rid of key searching all together, I’m happy.

So, NP gave MP3 a perfect ten–only the second ten they’ve ever doled out.

Forgive me for the hypocritical linking of another forum, but it includes sources and verifications that a simple quote wouldn’t serve as well:

Just because the MPH hunters had no backstories didn’t mean they aren’t a hundred times more badass- and original- than MP3’s X-Men ripoffs.

Hunters didn’t have TIME to give them in-depth personalities.

wait wut

All of the Hunters from Hunters had backstories. >_> We don’t know a thing about any of Corruption’s yet.

Er… personality, rather.

Resident Evil 4 was the first game NP gave a 10. I’ve not played the game myself (puts on flame retardant) but I keep hearing that it’s arguably the best game of last gen and maybe ever (Hopes to get Wii version soon). With that said, I can only think that this game is gonna nuke my expectations and put me in a state of O_O for no less than 2 months.

RE4 was awesome, indeed, but the Wii one blows it out of the water by far. Which only goes to show that WiiFPS rocks, and thus MP3C will rock absolutely. >_>

And personality already makes them more badass than the MPH hunters.

Samus of course, is most badass, due to her lack of vocals. It’s like she’s so badass, she doesn’t NEED to talk.

Though I do admit, they could have been more original for the hunters actual abilities. They all look really cool, but I’ll give you the Xmen rip thing.

MPH’s hunters just dont feel like characters though. THey don’t have any substance to them.

I guess we do. Honestly, I’ve never been a huge fan of being completely alone in metroid games (fusion didn’t feel lonely to me). Prime 1 had an atmosphere at times, where Samus felt larger than life, so It didn’t bother me at all. Metroid prime 2 felt very lonely, and sort of overwhelming (I had the guide though, so it was partially alleviated/ruined). M2 had the same overwhelming feeling (I had a guide for that one too, because I got frustrated >_<). But basically, if the game creates an atomosphere that feels secure, it doesn’t bother me (that I look forward to events), then I don’t mind being lonely in it.

Of course, the gameplay is the highlight.

Does anyone know what Nintendo Power gave Prime 2?

It’s just… some of us wanted a Metroid game, not an FPS.

…and 072 IS correct that Prime 3 is following a more FPS-looking design, but since Retro has only showed us the first two levels of the game, I’m hopeful it will redeem itself later.

Some things are NOT necessarily mutually exclusive.

Like what? Samus?

There might be a trace of Metroid Prime left in the game, but there is no trace of Metroid.

Super Metroid was

2d Platforming + Metroid

Metroid Prime got rid of the 2d platforming for

FP + Metroid

Metroid Prime 3 got rid of the Metroid for

FP + Halo. That means the game is still half Prime, but can you really consider it a Metroid game?
