Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Can’t… decide… if… watch…

On one hand I don’t want it all spoiled for me, because I know I’m never going to enjoy that first hour ever again. (I watched my brother play the first hour of MP2 and didn’t like having to trudge through all of that again myself) On the other hand I want to be reassured that it’s going to be an awesome game even if it’s not the classic Metroid I wanted.

Grgha… I’ll wait until August 28th to see the first hour.

WTF they have the equivalent of 007 awards (Hunter awards?) when you save a GF Trooper or beat a boss.

This oughta be good. Clicks link

Meh, I don’t know if I should click it or not. I can’t even guarantee that I’ll get the game on launch (or anytime soon). Gulp.

I’ll come back later. >_<

I said, that they might try to use them as weapons, or try to tame them. But possibly there will be an accident caused by this, and so they declare the metroids too dangerous, extermination.

If so, this could lead the way for another metroid game between metroid prime 3 and metroid 2. Just a nice idea. It could have samus and the federation up against tons of metroids. I think itd be a great game. But, it can’t have the word prime in it, since this is the last prime, prime 3.

EDIT- the edit button image is messed <_<

Im pretty sure it’s the pirates use of metroids why they declared the metroids too dangerous. It’s possible that they did some metroid experiments, but I dont think it’s necessary to have an entire game. I hope the next 3d metorid game takes place between super metroid, and metroid fusion. After all, that’s a nice empty space for them to put something. Then metroid dread (or whatever) will happen after fusion.

They’ve taken basically every idea I have from my fangame >_< (attack via wormhole, orbitial super cannon platforms etc.) Now it won’t be nearly as original ;_;

Well, the first hour is nothing but extreme linearity, GF buddies, and enough voice acting to make your head explode-- from laughter. But we already knew that, didn’t we?

So, just like MP2’s first hour then. Straight path, lots of GFs, and some voice acting. MP1’s first hour was also linear, but didn’t feel like it (you could branch off occasionally even if it wouldn’t let you progress that way, and heading backwards always opened up more) and there weren’t any GFs or voice acting. Oh well. That’s more incentive for me not to watch the first hour until I’m actually playing the first hour.

Ed: They even have the Return of Mother (and Father and Gender Neutral) Brain(s). :\

OMG, that video was fricken awsome. I NEED THIS GAME ON LAUNCH!!! devises scheme to beg the fuck out of dad

Seriously though, I must say I’m excited for the other hunters. There’s actually character potential. Rundus was soooooo badass. I didn’t realize he was that tall though. Ghor was sorta cool too (now that we know he’s not just a big robot suit). Gandraya was interesting I guess.

But honestly, I really can’t complain anymore, I think they did a good job, though it reminded me WAAAAAAAY to much of the beggining of Halo.

arrive at a big ship, ship is attacked, you leave and land somewhere

MP1 and MP2 were linear the entire way through (Or at least, they would have been if not for sequence breaking), but never this linear.

As for the GFs, MP2 was filled with them for the first 20 or 30 minutes, not the first hour. And they were dead. They didn’t talk to you. They didn’t walk you through the first level.

The only voice acting in MP2 was “We need backup!” Here, it is EVERYWHERE. You can talk to everyone on the station, and when you fly to the first planet, you meet up with another GF buddy, who… talks to you. <_< And the Hunters talk a lot too.

The voice acting is actually pretty good.

Yeah, though I thought the commanders voice was cheezy and stereotypical (not that it wasnt done well lol). Rundus sounds more badass then he did last year.

I’m actually looking forward to saving GF troopers though. It sounds like a more fun element to add.

Is saving the GF Troopers anything like “Oh thank you, you found me, now I can go running off in some direction without you and make it back to wherever safely” or “Oh thank you, there was a giant beast there, did you see it, well anyway you killed it now” or “Oh thank you, those space pirates ambushed me” or “Oh thank you, you found my purse, here, have six GF buddy points”?

Way too much voice acting, not even Halo had this much. But it’s still cool that Samus doesn’t talk at all. The nod she gave to the general was pretty awesome too.

When I re-opened the gametrailers site I can’t see the video again, does anyone know why?

Lol, you’re sort of right. There was TONS of voice acting. I didn’t really think about that. I guess they’re really going on characters this time. I hope you don’t kill Rundus though >_<.

I’m having deja Vu, what are some of those quotes from? Isn’t it twilight princess in the twilight?

But I actually think the GF make it interesting, even if they do make it claustrafobic compared to other games.

Dude, you’re right, the video is gone. What’s up with that?

The game is embargoed till next week but nobody told these guys XD
Opps…no more free games from Nintendo.

Damnit. I wanted to watch it again. Oh well. We should consider ourselves very fortunate to have seen it once. Anyway, we get two more video’s in two more days (when school starts >_>).

It’s on Youtube.
