Meh, mabye most popular amongst metroid fans, but not among the masses.
Because Sylux’s past is mystery, it gives him the most potential, and you know how our imaginations run away with us. They could paint any sort of picture of him they want, and that makes him interesting.
I guess pirates are very requested for “random enemies”, but most people like solid characters in the game. They could make good assist trophies, but the chances of them being playable are pretty slim.
I just pre-ordered it today from Wal-Mart so I should have by the end of this month or possibly sooner.

I thought the aurora unit video was sorta boring and pointless. The only thing I felt they were trying to say is how bad the GF are gonna get screwed by the virus (since ALL aurora units are connected). They might end up being bosses or something (motherbrain style or something (since they couldn’t put motherbrain in the game)). Yeah, but the spiderball scene was sort of comforting, since it shows that we’ll be getting classic metroid morphball action and stuff.
So 072, dont give up on the game yet, mabye they just didn’t want to show boring suff, but I still think there’s enough of the original prime in there for you.

I know mother brain wont be in the game, but it gives them an excuse to do a 3d mother brain esque fight (if the virus made the units go bad or something), though there seem to be quite a few of them. Ed, I wouldnt spaz out yet. This update was vague at best.
072, I think at this point, you might as well look for prime esque things since apparently its all so “corrupted”. It’ll still play like Prime and Prime 2 from what weve seen. This SB trailer couldnt possibly be negative.

I sorta kinda not really spaz’d about the fact that they are trying to tie in Mother Brain into the story. She may not be in the game itself as a boss or whatever but this video tells me that the story of Metroid is trying to be completed, all tied together, gaps filled in. The SM/ZM MB level diagram is heavy evidence that the Aurora Unit is a spin-off of the Mother Brain concept from the Chozo. Plus have it explained like they did in the video makes a character like ‘Mother Brain’ sound a whole lot less corny.
No she won’t. Mother Brain is Zebes’s defense system controller and nothing more, and Super makes it clear that it’s only the second trip to Zebes.
I remember in Prime a Pirate log stated that phazon would make you stronger, but also decayed brain tissue (atleast I think that’s wha it said, it’s bn a while). If this is the case, those arrura units are basically giant brina, and assuming they get introduced to phazon, wouldn’t it just kill them? Or give them severe brain damage?
spider ball is awsome. that’s the last thing i’m going to see of the game till release, i’m avoiding all the spoilers possible from now on.
the atmosphere in the morph ball movie was awsome, definetly one of my faveroute ever.
I dont recall reading anything specific like that, unless you’re referring to “phazon fever”. But thats merely from prolonged exposure to phazon radiation, and is more like taking a bag full of shrooms and a bit of LSD. The elite pirates however didnt seem any less intelligent than normal pirares though (based on logs). These computers/brain are infected with a virus, probably phazon based, though we cant know yet.
High exposure to radiation will cause brain damage. That’s just common fact. Elite pirates are buffed up pirates on radioactive steroids. Naturally they’ll be a bit dumb. I dunno if the Aurora’s are being exposed to enough to cause much of a problem…
I guess, but I wouldnt link it to the auroras being brains.
But there WAS something interesting in the Aurora video.

Subtle, and almost pointless information. I think theyre REALLY trying to get people think mother brain on this one. Why else throw that in there?
