Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Not really. The concept may have been straight out of LTTP, but the implementation and atmospheres felt completely different.

I mean, it phased me that the dark world sucked, but not that it was a Zelda ripoff. >_>

Oh.

<_<

He’s not unique in his opinion on the art style, because I agree with him. It’s an ugly clash of realism and non-realism, and I wish they’d just pick one instead of giving me a headache with the contrast between them. (All seems cool in SkyTown… until you fight an army of marching Disney robots)

The bloom lighting is a major part of it–bloom is SOOOO cliche now, and it’s only realistic if it’s trying to demonstrate that the character is wearing really dirty glasses. MP1 and MP2 had no bloom, and I don’t like Retro’s decision to add it to the third just because they could with the new hardware. And they went way overboard with the particle effects on the power beam and other things.

I’m sure I’ll get used to it, though.

There is no point of making new Metroid games if those games don’t take the series anywhere new.

So the ultimate goal for the series is to make the least metroid-like game possible?

Hmm… try that again, I think there was a LITTLE bit of the point that you did not miss.

I’m starting to wonder if you’re just trolling us on purpose by intentionally “misinterpreting” everything you can.

They wanted to create something fresh, that would please metroid fans, hardcore gamers, show the Wii’s capabilities, and overall, sell. In the end, the game doesnt stay completely true to the series, but your making huge assumptions based on what we’ve seen. The gameplay aove all will feel fresh and new, but still metroid. But you still cant assume that you’re going to have a bunch of hunters and Gf dudes following you everywhere. The game is more metroid than you’re giving it credit for.

A bunch of hunters? There’s only 3, which is half of what Hunters had, <_<.

And I like the idea of more hunters, as long as they’re reoccurring. I mean, there were barely any suitable characters for SSB from Metroid before. The only possible characters were like, Samus and Ridley. That just showed how little characters the Metroid universe had.

…Tons of things from Metroid would qualify as SSB characters. Anything that could have multiple attacks would work. Even a sheegoth could make an SSB character (though it’d have to learn how to jump like a Grenchler). It’d be better than Jigglypuff or Pichu. Although, the most obvious one I can think of would be a space pirate. You’re thinking too “humanoid and/or one-of-a-kind”, but not all SSB characters followed that rule (like some of the Pokemon). The Metroid universe doesn’t need many more characters, though. It’s never been that kind of game…s.

The more the merrier IMO though. Once again, as long as they’re reoccuring characters they’re fine.

Maybe, but trolling is hardly the word I would use.

But characters have to be popular to make SSB. If you suggested Sheegoths or SPs at the Nsider forums, theyd ridicule you. People want recognizable characters, something that metroid definetly lacks. Ridley, Samus, and dark Samus (mabye Sylux) are the only characters people would want to play as. Personally, metroid does need more recognizable characters.

‘Trolling’ is the word everyone else would use >_>

The new trailer looks at least 3 times better on the Wii than on youtube.

A lot of people want pirates, actually. >_> And Weavel’s a far more common and likely choice than Sylux, thanks to actually having melee weapons.

All the new hunters would be suitable characters, really. But seriously, playing as a Sheegoth is ridiculous. It’s just a normal enemy out of hundreds in the Metroid Universe. It’s rare to get a character in SSB from Metroid alone, so what are the chances of that being a Sheegoth?

Nah, Sylux and Kanden would never make it. Spire at least has some physical aspects that could be good for fighting, but Weavel and Trace both seem more made for physical than ranged fighting anyway, and are already equipped for hand to hand combat. SSB may have a lot of guns and stuff, but characters need to be able to believably throw a punch too, so one of those three is far more likely.

Besides, no one likes Kanden or Spire. >_>

If you have a Nintendo Wii you can download the MP3:C preview free of charge It’s pretty good so far, kinda creepy in some ways. =3

EDIT:
Also it looks like the US release date is the 28th

Meh, thats never been a barrier before. I dont see Mewtwo, Ness, Elda and Dr. Mario hitting anyone in their games. Sylux is the most popular hunter, and has good enough story relevance to re-appear. Weavel sucks in hunters so people dont like using him, fhough his turret would be badass in a fighting game.

Not NEARLY enough people support pirates. Go to Nsider, and tell me that im wrong (Sakurai has used Nsider as a referrence for choosing characters). While Ridley gets universal support, few even want Dark Samus.

Playing as a sheegoth would be wack. Nuff sed.

Weavel is among the most popular. >_> And Sylux? Story relevance? WHAT story? His entire existence can be summed up as “mystery”. For all we know he just hates Samus because she stole a cookie back in middle school, and his true from is a cheerleader.

And pirates are one of the most requested random enemies.

And yes, we get it. Sheegoth won’t work. Enough already.
