Hunter vs. Spartan 117

I thought they would be dueling, not miles away. Cuz if they were miles away, Samus wouldn’t stand a chance. Ever played Spires in multiplayer? Samus’s beams disapear BEFORE THEY EVEN GET TO THE OTHER SIDE! But if the were close… That’s a whole different story.

yes, but samus has super reflexes and the sr has n undeniable trail

Sr?

What’s MC? Does the C stand for Chief?

And, like GM just said, what’s SR, too?

EDIT: Oh, at the poll it said Master Chief. Whoops… never mind…

sniper rifle.
rl-rocket launcher
pp-plasma pistol
pr-plasma rifle
etc

That’s like saying "Yeah, dad, I’m going to the mm to pick up some e&g, and maybe while I’m at it, i’ll get some pb&j

not really. in other threads here, ive seen mp(metroid prime) ds(dark samus)… you name it
oh and whats mm, e&g

You souldn’t know. Thats the magic of it.

let me guess…
mm minute mart?
e&g eggs and…oh, i dont know…

mm = Minute mart

e&g = …I can’t even remember, lmao.

pb&j = Peanut Butter and Jelly

i figured pb and j was that…
lets get back on topic shall we?

Yes. Let’s get back on topic. I’m beginning to think of scenarios of where MC would have a definite chance of winning. I think that in an open field, Samus would win. But if they were in a sheltered place with lots of places to hide and ambush, MC could hide, duck, and swerve around, all the while shooting Samus. Now, if they were in an all out attack, Samus would probably win. How do i know? Energy. In zero mission, Samus has about 25 energy tanks. There is no way MC could take down that much energy.

What stops Samus from using that cover too? And thanks to her lockon side-dash, she can get behind it faster than emsee could.

And no, ZM’s ridiculous energy count is irrelevent. We’re using the MP Samus here…

Holy handgrenades. I left the forum for a month, never expected THIS thread to get to fifteen pages!

While Samus and Chief are both about the same speed, with Chief being… we’ll say 125% as fast as Samus in respective motion directions (a little faster strafing, a little faster forward, a little faster backwards.)

In close ranges Chief could hammer down on Samus with heavy weapons, and, undeniably, she could not get out of the way in time. If she had dashed before the shot was fired at 20 feet, however, she could substantially reduce damage done to her by only absorbing the ‘splash.’ If Chief slipped up though, he would take a LOT of damage up close from Samus’ weaponry (he is too close to dodge it.)

Heck, I’ll get back into the arguement.

Do you realize that a SPARTAN’s reaction time is unchartable? Do you realize that they can, with their fists, dent and puncture battleship armour plating? Do you realize they can run a kilometer in seconds? And this is all un-aided by MJOLNIR, a powerful armour system that boosts their reaction time, movement speed, and strength tenfold. In close combat, a SPARTAN would win because of the incredible advantage of strength and speed.

Weapons-wise, I have to say it would be a close fight. The Covenant plasma rifle is roughly equivalent to the Power Beam, I would say. A SPARTAN can use two of those at once. Or perhaps the Fuel Rod Cannon, equal of the Plasma Beam?

It’d be a darn close fight. So close, in fact, that the only deciding factor would be the opinion of the person writing the fight. I like Samus and Master Chief equal amounts, so I have a draw.

You do realize we’re going game-wise here. Chief in Halo isn’t all that fast, Samus is nearly as fast and as Daz stated… side step… Chief wouldn’t know what’s hitting him. I noticed that the boost ball can go faster than a banshee can when boosting. How do I know, I only play Metroid right? No. I do play Halo and I have a respect for it so don’t go off calling me a Metroid fanboy. Also, what makes you think Samus isn’t that strong, she is, very strong even without her suit she can survive Space Pirate cannon blasts which I’m guessing are as strong as a shotgun. So yes, suitless Samus IS strong.

Pirate blasts…shotgun? Sorry, but no. <_< A shotgun would knock the target back a hell of a lot more than that from impact, methinks… besides, pirate cannons are rapid fire. A rapid fire shotgun is …highly unlikely.

Although their turrets would be damn strong.

I was talking about Zero Mission, they are not rapid fire in Zero Mission… They shoot around the same speed as a shotgun does.

GM-That is a terrible metaphor.

There are many semi-automatic shotguns out there, and each one of them can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. And, to pump a shotgun’s action, it takes about 2/10 of a second. Not a much larger time gap, like the pirates have.

And yes, I would know. I own a shotgun.

Daz- That would be right. If a projectile can’t fully break armor, it will drive itself as far as it can into it, while pushing the victim backwards.
