**Build demo topic**

That happened to me a coupla times, but I had no idea how I did it, so I didn’t bother reporting it.

I think all of the glitches we’ve found (the ones involving the doors) can be placed into categories of holding the arrow key back, and a broken tile over the 2 → 3 door… So all that stuff I found is kinda pointless, since I think it’s all really the same two glitches.

just one more thing about that door… sometimes when getting caught in it, I can’t move, but when I tur around, it becomes clear: the game thinks I’m crouched.

There’s something you can add in v.2.03: moving out of the crouched position.

In the weapons demo you allowed the player to do more than a double morph ball jump. Is that still going to be allowed in the 2.03 demo (or whenever you make morph ball bombs)?

…Aren’t there already morph ball bombs? O.o

Hmm, DF hasn’t gotten around to updating the first page here, I guess. There’s a version with morph ball bombs now, ibj and a few other new glitches included.

Trust me, there’s a whole lot more than that :stuck_out_tongue:. Still, most of them are really small ones.

There is no version 2.03 yet. It’s version 2.02b, which can be found here. And yes, we’ve already covered all the problems with it, like morph ball bombs being to fast and such.

Cool! Played the demo! Awsome to see that the door glitch can be corrected if you place a bomb! But you know that already… anyways its nice to see the progress in the one new room.

The game looks and feels better now :slight_smile:

I’m just gonna finish the missiles, and add some more rooms in the new world. I’ll release the new demo after that.

But I need the missile sprites first.
I know multiple people have made those sprites, so if anyone could post the sprites we’re gonna use here, that would help me a lot.

need some other stuff too:

  • I’ve made bombable blocks, now I need a small block explosion animation, so the blocks don’t suddenly dissappear when you bomb them. (16*16 sprite)
  • morph ball upgrade sprite
  • morph ball bomb upgrade sprite

BTW this is the new standing pose:

You might notice that samus is a bit darker, that’s just the engine blending samus a bit.

I based the new standing sprite on the super metroid one, it matches almost exactly

Not much of a spriter myself, but mad website designer, programmer, Metroid Addict and CSS Gamer. Ill have a crack.

Good to hear a post with an update. People probably wont bitch as much if you update regularly, even just to say its still coming and show a screenshot or 2.

do you want the bomb explosion to fuzzle out like in M:zm or actually explode?

and, is that an actual picture or just a fake? i would like to play in tallon overworld in the next demo :slight_smile:

It would help if you could post the block with and without the bomb icon showing. You know like in some of the older metroid games, if you shoot or screw attack the bomb blocks etc, it would change from a normal sprite to the bomb block indicator. Those sprites would help, then i can try to blow em up :stuck_out_tongue:

That animation is WAY too slow.

Why would you make the icon show? That wouldn’t be like Metroid Prime at all. And besides you didn’t bomb any tiles except those brimstone tiles that said: "Come and bomb me cuz I’m right in your path y4 n00b!

hmm… i used unfreez with a delay of 0 centeseconds. maybe i should take out some frames.

i used 0 centeseconds, maybe i should decrease frame count?

if you want me to make one of the bomb block, you’ll have to give me the p2d bomb block sprite first so i have soemthing to work with.

here’s it with 4 frames rather then 8. too fast, too slow?

Let the first and last frames hold a while so we can see.

I found two glitches in the new demo! The first is that in the first tunnel, run to the right door and jump and go to morph ball so you land on the door. THen, keep rooling too the right and will be on the other side of the door.

The second is that in the first tunnel, run to the right door and jump and go to morph ball so you land on the door. Be careful not to rool in to the next room! Now, push the jump button so you will stand up, and then push the down key ones so you will sit. Then make sure you are turned to the right! Then you hold the aim down key and shoot. Now you will be stuck in the air and you can only escape by reapetly press the right and left button or going to morph ball!
