Looks like it’s pulsing more than rotating.

like trying to rotate, but half failing, while pulsing or something…

You could probably fix it up a little if you want, but I wouldn’t change the style. I thought for a second that it might need to spin in more directions, but then I realized that a one-direction spin animation is good enough. In game, the animation could be programmed both to speed up, slow down, change directions, and rotate, all smoothly. Would look great with little effort.

i FINALLY got a decent screen shot of the floating platform

i checked up on the phazon in prime and prime 2
completely different looks
the phazon i have now looks more like the prime 2 version
the phazon im working on is more prime, though i still dont have anything good to show yet <_<
so far i just have a basic vine mesh going on, i need to shape it up and layer it, and of coure the darker backdrop

as for my original phazon, it looks more like it’d just need a fw more veins of the bright blue to be good for the prime 2 style phazon

Hey, cool! Lots of new stuff all at once!

I agree that Phazon #2 is the best, and now the filling is pretty amazing. The colors may be a little too intense still, but yes, it loops very well, even across an entire screen. So next up is making an interesting surface, right? Oh, and animating the whole thing, of course. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Phendrana platform is much improved. I wouldn’t follow the screenshot for the snow, however. Rendered snow like that doesn’t translate well to 2D, especially when the polygons are more than just visible. <_< Think frosting.
Also, the platform in the screenshot doesn’t look very 3D, so it’s good that you’re giving yours some additional depth. I would try adding a darker shade for along/near the sides of the base, but that’s just me.

Finally, the plated beetle looks great, especially that shiny red tail thing. Could I request to see those animations animated? :stuck_out_tongue:
Also, the plated beetle in MP does a lot of jumping side-to-side before striking. How is this going to be done in 2D? The few ways I can think of would make the fight really boring, so…

the phazon in prime 2 was pretty intense :wink:
but i’ll see what i can do for a comparison
as for the darker color for the base of the platform, i’ll also do that for a comparison

and i dont need the pic to tell what frosting is, i can just look outside xD

animating all the phazon is going to prove to be a challenge…
but i have some idea of what to do
and i didnt really follow the shot for the snow, i just kinda went with wingin it xD

and i’ve wondered about that side to side thing with the beetle myself
maybe it can do alot of up and down? xDD
slap some wings on that sucker and call it a day /sarcasm
but seriously now, the WHOLE game is side to side, severe lack of a z axis for the extra jumping room, maybe it could jump in and out of the layer youre on?

Yes, theoretically 8 frames <=D. I’m finding it difficult cranking the number of frames to 16 :angry:

Actually… yes. I’ll fix that. It also has huge wings which I’ll have to do ._.
And I don’t mind doing tiles/backgrounds/stuff for Phendrana. I’d like to do the giant Chozo statues, the Phendrana temple wall bg, and I’ll see what else I can do next time I play Metroid Prime (which is hopefully soon).
Edit: btw should I make the contrast higher for the upgrade?
