Man, reading a bunch of pages in a row makes you forget what you were going to say. I think Timmeh said something about Mod’s detachment? Yeah. In case you never noticed, Dazzy has over four thousand posts. WAY more than anybody else. 072 is in the top five posters, but other than that, we really don’t have anyone. While a democracy is a good Idea, the problem we had with the Daz ruling this place, is gone. So why argue any more?
Daz and 072 have been absent for ages. Daz made a billion posts in the past 2 days, but he’s doesn’t usually check regularly.
I’m just jumping on the opportunity here to do something to the project that makes it more likely to succeed. There’s hardly any progress nowadays. If nothing changes, there’s no reason for it to ever get finished.

CFX is probably the only one who can change that. Although I’m sure there will still be more sparks of progress as in the past.
Pardon my ignorance, but who is CFX? I feel like an Idiot asking, its probably the guy who wrote the code for the game right?
At one point, he was. Now he isn’t actually part of the team, but is still (hopefully >_>) making the engine that the final version of the game will run on.

I don’t remember anyone giving an update on the engine. If nothing’s happening with that, all of the spriting we’ve been doing is useless for now.
We can still make mockups, so its not TOTALLY useless. And besides, sooner or later, this engine will come together.
Last I heard, he had another project that took priority. I believe he’s still working on MetEngine on the side, we just have no idea when it’ll be complete.
So, how is Met Engine better than game maker? looks better, better graphx, what?
It’s actually capable of making the whole game (and doing it well). GM is not.
It’s just too low-power for some of our ambitions.
Like explosions, cut scenes, smooth gameplay, ect. Also, Daz, why cant you use black when spriting? Zurg gave me the reason " becase Daz said so."
It depends on your style, but there’s no suck thing as black in anything realistic or anything cartoony, and what else is there? >.>
Well, for one thing, a lot of programs use 100% black as ‘transparent’, so it’s just a common no-no in the spriting community.
Partially because of that, most (all?) of our existing sprites don’t use black. If new sprites do so, it clashes.
But yeah. Beyond that, what Tim said–it just doesn’t look realistic in most cases. Nothing in this game has a complete absence of light or color. And borders can’t be black, because that makes them too cartoony to match the rest of our sprites.

and just as a clearing up thing with the sprites I’ve seen many sprites in real published games with black so i guess its really a matter of opinion
Guess I’ll fix my box then. a while ago i tried spriting a baby sheegoth, but it looked like something that rose out of hell to attack me.
UTA, if you’d like to know a little more about CFX’s engine, his current involvement with the community, and maybe a bit about P2D using GM, check this topic. Reading through that might give you a better idea of the game engine issues. xP
