Er, never noticed the fast moving problem, really. The only game I’ve ever had a problem with that in was Unreal Tournament 2004
Haha, Doom has some pretty fast movement… it makes it exciting! I love the speed and excitement of it, personally.
Doom was awesome.
Maybe it’s the retro goggles, though.
You’re only ever required to use the run button a few times, and that’s in episode 4, but I honestly couldn’t imagine playing that slow. ![]()
Run… Button? WHAT THE HELL BUTTON WAS THAT?!
…
sigh
Default is Shift I believe.
IDK. I played on xbox. I like Marathon better myself.
FPS+Console=Worse then PC version.
I dissagree. The controller is easier to use for a lot of people, and since Halo pretty much perfected the controls (meaning most games use similar controls)…
Ya, it perfected them.
Still not as good as a mouse and keyboard, though.
(Only advantage to the controller, you can back and play it on your TV)
I like it better, and a lot of people do.
By Halo, you of course mean the tens of console FPSes using the exact same system before it, right?
Halo’s fine and all, but I wish people would stop acting like it did ANYTHING that hadn’t already been done. It was a good generic FPS.
Plus, I can say with definitiveness that the mouse gives you more control, assuming you’re a perfect human being. You have a max turn rate if you use a controller. You can do a few 360 spins per second with a mouse. You also have a minimum movement that you don’t have with a controller. If you’re trying to hit a single pixel with a controller, it won’t be possible. The one thing it’s easier to do with a controller is track a target moving at a constant rate, which shouldn’t be difficult no matter what you’re using.
Then you haven’t played a good PC FPS.
Halo was an above average shooter, rejinked to work better on a console, with a few story elements thrown in there, and (damn awesome) vehicle bits.
It worked, but it can’t stand up against PC classics.
I think that Corruption perfected FPS console controls.
>_>
You win. <_<
Halo 1 didn’t do much, Halo 2 had the xbox live features that were put int othe 360’s xbox live, and Halo 3 has forge and saved films. Those are huge. What other game has a map editor that you can play real games in? And what other game has a theater that you can go anywhere in real time?
You can adjust the controller sensitivity in most games.
Brawl. And you can create levels from scratch in it.
You mean like a movie theater?
Most PC games have a map editor, and all games let you go anywhere in real time… I guess making that option visible in multiplayer is cool or something. Really revolutionary FPS stuff.
And yes, so it moves the screen more degrees per frame if it’s a higher sensitivity. Which means that if you can do a 360 spin in a second, then you can’t aim at individual pixels, and vice versa. Until someone invents a way to make controllers truly analog, the mouse will be superior.
Corruption FTW.
Advanced lets me spin fast 'nuff, and I can hit within 1-2 pixels of target.
Yeah, I keep forgetting the Wiimote. Damn you, Wii!
