I saved and opened his animation file.
And REDHALBERD, yes, you should. Either make him not go up so much overall (likely the best option along with the following), or make him go up more in the surrounding frames to smooth it out.

Making him go up more in the surrounding frames wouldnt work because then he would float occasionally just to be level. I do feel like i fixed it up a bit.
(the red line was to make sure the running was level. I hope its better.
Also, i did aimup and aimdown poses. These will later be added to running sprites, to complete the sheet (spare the few other manditory poses)(like the awsome pointing cuttscene). But what do you think of them??
i have a question. why are there random green dots all over his body in the running animation?
oh and i noticed in both the sylux and pirate running animation, its hard to tell which leg is which. you could shade the back leg darker so it looks better =p
Yeah, i definetly agree with shading the legs more. I did think it was hard to tell the legs apart. But random green dots?? I dont see any. Ill check it after i upload it again, but i dont see any. But ill see what i can do.
i think its when you convert bitmaps to gifs. it loses color data so it has to make it up someout (thus spawning the green dots) so, if youre looking at your spritesheet, it probubly doesnt have any green dots but the gifs definantly do.
I hope that fixes up the shading problem. But i have a question. When im using MS Gif animator, should i past the sprites from the PNG version, or the bitmap version. Sometimes, the animations are slightly blurry, like the commando above, as opposed to the commando above it.
Green dots?? I still dont see any green dots on the animations. I do notice that one the pic that i held it by the head, the pixel coloration on the head shifts. Is that what you mean??
i circled some examples and large splotches of the green. i definantly think this lost some color detailing when it went to gif. next time, you should take it into photoshop, then give it an indexed color of “exact”, and then save it as a gif.
see the green pixles?
it also has pink splotched all over it too…
Strange, i dont use photoshop, but i do see the problem. I use MS paint, then save the file as a PNG, then upload it to photobucket. But the picture becomes so much more pixelated whenever i upload it. But i dont use photoshop. Ill see what i can do.
hey redhalberd, by the way, can i use your running template back from page 3? I really need it to get the run cycle for my samus right. just wanted to ask before i used it =p
Yeah, sure, but i have a better one, ill upload it in a sec. Also, how to you make a palette?? It asks me if i want to use the optimal palette, or find my own. The optimal palette has errors (not that i know why), but i dont know how to make my own palette. Is there a special program??
Umm… never mind about the other template, the 7th frame looks fine in the SP commando animation, but not in the Samus/Sylux types animations. The one on the 3rd page should be fine. Dont even bother giving me credit for it. I didnt really think anyone would really need it.
for the pallete… im not sure but i think you click make your own. does it give u options after you click it?
the running template… i used yours and it turned out pretty choppy so i added a few frames. my samus running looks really awsome now.
Im not suprised, since i made the palette a while ago. But how many frames did you use?? I say that 8 is always good enough, but id still like to see what you did to make it smoother. But are you using MS gif animator?? I dont see any option to create my own. What GIF animator are you using??
I tried every different combination of Optimal, and browser palette. Optimal Solid, and Optimal Error diffusion work fine, but the colors are altered. But it doesnt give an option to make a palette.
OMG TRIPLE POST!!!
Heres the problem whenever i used Solid color, on optimal palette. I have the same problem when i use error diffusion. All the other setting produce weird yellow dots all over the medium shade.
I made a palette thingy, but isnt a palette file, so i cant use it.
i actually manipulated the frames i made in your pallete into metroid zero mission style. it has 10 frames.
i use unfreez.
it might just be your gif animator… you should google unfreez and try that. if it works, then great. if not, then, well, i guess you’re stuck.
Don’t you have the option “Exact colors/palette”?
Anything else will either make the file bigger or mess up your colors.
yeah or… mine has a drop down menu and you click “exact” if it has less then 256 colors… if not, then its greyed out and you can click on “Local (Selective)”
this is all in photoshop by the way. I think you were doing it in your gif animator… im not sure.
you try options? maybe you missed something?
(aimed at shortly above graphic)
so eh…why did you choose a pink background…? i choose pink because i know i will never use pink as a color, is that it?
