Um…sure, yeah those things are ancient history. Anyway, I didnt make them for a game, just for general use. I havent made new ones, though I considered it, and probably will in the future. You have my “premission”, but you’d be better off using the other set of GF trooper sprites made by some dude. They’re on the Shyguy kingdom next to mine, and they’re also in tracelators oversized sig, which will probably be removed anyway, so just go to Shyguy kingdom.
You make me want to stab a baby. Not only are those ancient, but I made them when I had no spriting skill watsoever, so please check the dates on posts. Not to be rude, but that was REALLY out of place.
As you know, I’ve updated Sylux, Weavel, and Kanden. I’ve yet to remake the others, which I eventually will.

Look at it. It’s attrocious. I really cant shade for shit. Please help. It’s for a sprite duel. It’s not my lineart, but I have to shade it. Please dont make an example, just tell me what’s wrong.
…I like the shading. It has a lot of style to it, but it could probably use some dithering. The line art needs to be a bit less noticeble as well, but I’m going to assume that that’s one of the In production parts.
You like it?? But It just doesnt look like it has a consistant light source throughout the sprite. I will dither it, but only once the shading is perfected, which is what I need help with. Anyway, the lineart is suppose to be that way. It’s part of the contest, no being able to changeyour opponents lineart.
I agree, it looks cool, and kinda old-school. Like a boss from EarthBound or something.

ya thats where i found the GF spites(shyguy kindom) i just wanted to make sure that i had permission or watever(on one site, a guy was warning that he’d take legal action if someone used his sprites with out permission)

Well, I dont really think you could do much if someone used your sprites without permission. If that’s what you want, then you shouldnt post them publically, and you should have people request to see and use them. Unless you patented/liscence them, then you cant fine someone (or to my knowledge you cant).
BTW, the winking eye is part of the lineart, so it’s not my problem.

I could make a sprite sheet, but I dont know if they’d let me submit it anywhere, since he’s not an official character. Armstrong Houston, from the Super metroid manga. I could, but they’d be samus edits at best, plus i’d need you to get me some referrences.
He has a blue Varia suit. If you used game mkaer’s recolor you’d be done in a minute.
Well not exactly true. His shape is a little more boxy than samus’s, but still, I could do a decently edited sprite sheet using mass recolor techniques in paint, and some editing in about an hour.
Or I could do it in ten seonds…
That’s not what I’m refferring to. You forget that Houston doesnt look EXACTLY like samus. It’d take about an hour of editing to make a GOOD sprite sheet of him. Course, even in paint, recoloring would only take about a minute.
Anyhow, recolors dont make a good sprite sheet, unless the character looks exactly the same.

Wow. I just realized how little time I have for spriting these days. Band practice, homework, and myspace have really started interferring. Anyway, I did some more shading practice. It’s a blob X parasite ish thing.

ACTUAL PROGRESS.
I finally finished the arm swinging animation for Kanden. Still has some minor issues, but definetly one of my best accomplishments, seeing as how this is the ste i’ve been to lazy to go into in all of my MF style sprite sheets.
Hopefuly I can finish the sprite sheet before the Wii comes out.
