GoW2 & DS are amazing games, too true.
But neither are particularly graphically intensive - sure, they’re very pretty, but that’s mostly down to art direction. Regardless of what resolution they are at, however, there’s no changing the fact that it’s hardware that was high-end 3 years ago. 3 years makes a whole load of difference.
Go play “Super Ray Tracing Brothers”, I’ll sit back and stare at Crysis, Very High, 1680x1050.
I mean literally that picture, there’s no way in hell I can run it like that. THAT is one of them several grand gaming PCs.
Except not really, I can get an 8800GTS for ?300-odd quid, run 2 in SLI for about ?600, and that’ll run it like that. (of course, I’d need a new case because I went minimalist last time, so I’d not have enough room, and maybe a new PSU, I haven’t checked the voltages)

Hey, I’ve nothing against consoles, they have some great games, I just prefer PCs.
FC2 looked -nothing- like that. And it certainly had nowhere near the physics, particles, shaders, post-processing, and so.
plus, fc2 was kinda shit. and by kinda, I mean, I wanted to play an fps, not a racing game.
Plus, like I said, that’s not the highest detail level, and it shows.

No, I went into fc2 expecting something at least slightly similar to fc1.
Using multiplayer as an excuse for a shit singleplayer isn’t really an excuse at all, some people don’t want to be verbally abused every time they try to play a game.
Fc1 (on PC) was great, fc2 was bloody awful. Had some nice ideas, and the fire was cool, but bloody hell, the whole game was driving, and the shooting felt like shit.
It was pretty, but nowhere near as pretty as Crysis. It should have been, it’s Crytek’s name. They shouldn’t have called it far cry at all.

And PY is right. That’s about all there is to it. PCs are superior, and will stay that way. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a console gamer, but PC>Consoles. And I only have three PC games.
