Yeah, but that’s why I’d like to know more about Phaaze. It blewup before we could learn ANYTHING about it. It’s a giant blue planet made of phazon, and there’s definetly more too it than we saw.
Ever since THIS video, I’ve wanted to explore Phaaze. I had guessed back in 2005 that it was a living planet due to the tentacles and the way they moved. But because of this trailer, I had always wanted to explore it.
Metroid prime 3 dissapointed me horribly. And Aurora Unit 313 made it even worse. I wanted to fight Phaaze itself, not some lame ass mother brain knock off, for the lame sake of nostalgia that didn’t happen.
Honestly, they could have done an original boss for Phaaze instead of that. Like, the phazon core or something. THAT would have been more satisfying.
Phaaze maybe the source of all phazon but how is the planet alive. In the leviathan infant scan before AU 313 was connect to the planet the planet choose its owns’ targets planet.
What will be the future of metroid will we see any more metroid game for the Wii or DS, I hope so.
I would like to have seen more of Phaaze as well, but how would they make you fight the Phazon Core? There really wouldn’t be anything special about it. It would just be a core of pure phazon. It wouldn’t have any abilities. It would just be…the core. There really isn’t any other way to say that. Plus, I sort of got the feeling that maybe Phaaze wasn’t complete. I think that in the logs, it said that the tentacles growing out of Phaaze would eventually cover the planet. I’m not sure, but it seemed as if Phaaze wasn’t pure phazon either, that it had just reached phazon planet “puberty” and that it wasn’t completely developed into the monster it would become. But the ending shouldn’t spoil the entire game for you.
No, it was sentient, read the logs. It says that the planet was trying to take over the universe. They might have shot out at random, but the planet did intend to take over the universe.
They even said the Tentacles were Semi-sentient, which proves it.
And the phazon core probably wouldn’t just be a core of phazon. Phaaze is a living thing, so you would probably fight some kind of brain (not an Aurora) or a giant phazon monster connected to the planet. I still dream of fighting that weird lava giant dark samus suit with the huge arms from the MP2E gallery.
I’m fairly sure that regardless of its technical meaning, in scifi settings sentient almost always refers to intelligent life–Space Pirates as opposed to Zoomers, humans as opposed to jellyfish, stuff like that.
Gosh, why does everything always feel the urge to take over the universe? Why can’t they just make a NEW universe and then take over that? Much more convenient.
On a different note, I did find it interesting that Dark Samus, a severely mutated “Guardian” seemed to have become, by Metroid Prime 3, the leader and coordinator of not only all Phazon ever, but also the Space Pirates. How come Samus isn’t that ambitious? I’m sure she could conquer something if she set her mind to it. Like the Federation. Or perhaps a planet with a small quantity of bioforms. Either would work.
On yet another note, I can not, and will not wait for Metroid Prime 4: The Return…of Phazon. And Dark Samus…sh! Don’t spoil it!
(P.S. When I conquer the world, and grant countries to those that please me…what country would you like? Warning, U.S., Japan and Australia have already been claimed.)
They may start out with a new story, since at the end of the credits(SPOLIER WARING) The strange ship follows Samus in the same area she warp) I wonder who is in that ship. Maybe a new enemy will take over Dark Samus place as a bad to the bone boss.
Well, they probably continue the 3D games, but it won’t be under the prime name, considering that the Prime series revolves around Metroid Prime, A.K.A Dark Samus.
Well, hell, Hunters had no relation to Prime either, but it still got her name in the title. They might keep using the MP name just to differentiate 3D from sidescrollers.
Same here. I just don’t think that it will be under the Prime name. And Daz, your right, so they may just continue using the prime name, but that would seriously kill the mood for me, considering it probably won’t have anything to do with Metroid Prime.
I doubt it’ll be called metroid prime even if it’s 3d.
Hell, they might try something new altogether. How about 3rd person Metroid? I’d be interested to see what Nintendo could whip out. It’d probably play similarly to metroid prime, but it could add more elements that were never used in the prime series.
Nintendo is always known for getting people things they didn’t know they wanted, and I think that might work.
Because if they keep making 3d FPA metroid games, I’ll get tired of them. Hell, Metroid prime 3 was probably enough to kill it for me.
They said Zelda was about to change. Mabye Metroid should too.
