MP3 has a Ridley that is glowing with Phazon apparently. Sounds like the result of falling into a large dose of the stuff.
Metroid Prime Phazon Crater drop? Hmm.
So the Metroid/Metroid Prime Ridley is still being a decent pain even with all the injuries he’s managed to obtain throughout the mess.
Judging by what I have seen, I don’t think Ridley will be a big threat in the game, or at least not one of the harder bosses. Might make an appearance and all but I think that he will not play a major role.
Ridley gets old after awhile. He provides no real challenge, and just seems
there in evry game. I blew his ass up like 6 times and he refuses to die. I’s
obvious Ridley CAN’T beat Samus so why do they waste their time repairing
him over and over again? He has been exploded, shot in the mouth, lazored,
burned, and infected by a frigen X parasite… If I see him again in another Metroid I’m going to screem.
They (pirates) keep bringing Ridley back because of his strategic genius he apparently can use to guide the Space Pirates to the point of advantage attack wise. Which is apparently proven in the plot of MP3 where they are attacking the GFeds, and winning.
I do hope they make Ridley a bigger challenge than what I saw in the preview and how he did as Meta Ridley. Hopefully no bugs to exploit like how you could boostball Meta-Rid into his ground form. Or just stand below him and blast him to a crap. I would like to see Ridley, later in the game, appear and actually DO something to Samus, like grab her and start smashing her up then blasting her away back onto the ‘arena’. He’s had all this time fighting her. He should’ve already learned ways to strike her down.
Well, if nintendo makes a game following the events in metroid fusion, then ridley can’t be in it because he was infected by the x-parasite and then Samus destroyed him and absorbed the x-parasite, which means he can’t possibly exist.
Know what WOULD be cool? If sometime in MP3 we find Ridley’s homeworld. Imagine what could be learned from scanning all of the artifacts and statues and stuff.
I’d like a new take on an old boss, really. The falling-down-pit idea was really kickass, although it could have been done a little more creatively. Ridley didn’t have enough attacks (although the Samus bitchslap was funny).
Meta Ridley was cool all right, and if you don’t want to be able to exploit glitches, then don’t exploit them. >_> There’s no such thing as a game without glitches. What I’d like is multiple Ridley fights, like Dark Samus in MP2. That would be cool.
But more than ANYthing I want NEW BOSSES. ENOUGH WITH THE SM REMAKES ALREADY. Metroid Prime was cool because most of what it did was original, but it had a few subtle references to SM. It wasn’t so dependent on Super Metroid to have all of it’s ideas for it, like Fusion was.
A Draygon fight would be cool, but I’d much rather fight a new boss that’s just as neat.
Uh … how was Fusion dependent (other than the storyline) on Super Metroid? There were no repeat bosses, other than Ridley … (and I guess Arachnus from MII).
But I agree. I want new bosses. From what I have seen, there should be quite a few.
Metroid Prime Echoes had completely new bosses, and in my opinion they kicked all ass, especially Quadraxis (other than the guardians, they just got really old).
Yes, you probably are. I for one love the boss themes, I even have most of them as ringtones =P. I really hope the music will be kept up to snuff, it’s a big part of the game.
His remains were infected. Then he apparently crumbled away.
But in Fusion’s storyline it was revealed that people’s memories/minds can be stored in computers.
The Space Pirates could’ve already done that and are reconstructing a new Ridley possibly from DNA or a full mech.
Hmm…Yeah it’s possible for him to come back.
And remember, Ridley has plans for before and after death. XD
They were stupid last time by revealing every single boss and item in the game save one long before it was released. This time they’re probably just being overly cautious to preserve surprises for the players.
