Okeydoke, I’m really starting to like Gamemaker, and when I have something decent, I’ll post it all here.

Your game looks very nice! Can’t wait to see more…

One thing I don’t get is…

How do you get from 1 room to another using Gamemaker?

Well, after I figure that out, all will be well.

Ah, the door/room transition problem. Took me weeks to figure that out. You have to get into some pretty heavy code for that, essentially:

Deactivate the object of the main charecter (Samus)
Move to desired room
Reactivate the object of the main charecter (Samus)
Set object_Samus.x and object_Samus.y to where you want them, e.g. near the door of the room you just entered.

If you are not familliar with code, you need to be.
If you are familliar with code, pm me and I will explain it to you.

Lol, on gamemaker, I’m not making a Metroid Game. I’m just making a simple platformer, and all is perfect, but that switching room stuff.

I have no clue about any sort of code, but when I do, along with Nebulus, maybe I can help P2D, since there are few programmers…

Ah, I doubt that. It seems Destroyer F has that under controll, and even my level of coding probly would prove fruitless. Anyways. Maybe not.

To get from room to room, there should be a little “Go to specific/other room” command that you can drag and drop.

I made the first version of Antharg, but I’m not going to show him completely yet. I blurred up a little mockup of Metroid Nebulus; here’s what it looks like:

EDIT: I registered and everything but when I try to log in, it says my pasword is wrong. :confused: Any suggestions how to fix this?

No, it’s pretty much the same. However, you can acess the Mod CP and a dropdown menu at the bottom of a topic’s page.

heres the new dragmortis boss. unshaded.

The tail shouldn’t be in front of the wing.

It should, that’s the way I positioned him. If you look, his body is twisting, as shown by the peach-like segments in his chest.

Looks normal to me.

It doesn’t look natural. First of all, do you realize the effort that must be put into that in order to animate it? Plus, wouldn’t the body be unstable if the wings were off to a side? IMHO, you should definately resize that thing, that way you can control it better while you’re still making it.

its pixel art, a sprite size one will be made. :slight_smile:

since i’m the programmer of the game, i have lots of work to do getting beta engine v0.2 out… :neutral_face: so see ya…

Bosk, are you using 30x30 tiles???

If so, change it to 16!! Everything we have so far was made in 16, and if you make it 30, we’ll have to do all that stuff over again…

  1. There are a couple things that are messed up in it. I know. Bosk and Sploder will take care of that. No need to post.

That is NOTHING, my lad. It is possible to get to the 3rd room; but not past it, I’ll tell ya that.

regarding the tiles, yes i am using 16x16 tiles. 8)

Shading must have taken on a whole new meaning since the last time I heard Daz talk about it. I don’t see any shading on that thing. I see a bunch of dots that makes the dragon look like he has chicken pox, but no shading.
