as for the boss sprite:
the problem isn’t the dithering, i think it looks fine… the problem is your shading.
here i tried to improve it a bit based on my impression. i assumed you wanted cracks in the carapace because you had it lowlighted in certain areas?
at any rate this is a wip… i haven’t gotten the dithering done. do you like it so far? btw haven’t done much with the legs i think they’re fine.

(@ R45) Your sprite seriously lacks volume- there are some inconsistent light spots, and we have the impression that your boss is just some oval with bits on it, which surely wasn’t what you had in mind.
He’s (Liksmaskaren) getting there with texture and a different light source. But it looks flat.
And the legs… think about an insect’s anatomy or look at one, and you’ll see that the legs don’t come out like oars out of a ship’s hull, and also think about how the boss is balanced (equal weight between limbs, etc.)
It’s supposed to be roundish from like the front, and I was unable to sprite it the way I thought of it, and I apoligize if I gave you the wrong idea. It needs more rocky lumps on it’s back too. Nevermind about it being darker, cuz it’s in Lower Norfair, which is very hot. But yeah, it’s probably still confusing, but idk how to word anything else. Ask what ya want, I’ll be organizing other stuff in the mean time.
