Hehe, my thought process was exactly the same.
If the metroid 2 wave beam was here I would say it’s the most useless item, it can’t go through walls in that game, how utterly pointless.
I would say the most useless item would be the spring ball in super metroid, it’s just a utter waste and is gained way too late.
The spring ball is useless really.
Still, worst item ever? Hyper grapple.
I like to say,“wide beam” from Metroid Fusion. It was easy to get in away and good for 30% of the game until those x parasites took new forms and was point less to use on SA-X during the runing part of the tropical part of the station
