Your sig is good, but it needs a near invisible background.
Translation: make up a bunch of artist-y sounding B.S as an excuse to be lazy about your work.
If you truly knew as much about art as you claim, you’d realize that A) FOCAL POINTS DO NOT GO AT THE FAR EDGES (rule of thirds somewhat applies here, but due to the way sigs are laid out, the stock CAN go at an edge–as long as they’re large enough to fill up a large amount of the image to begin with), B) space must be used effectively or else your eyes are drawn towards the blank areas (which almost entirely make up your sig), and C) bright blue and yellow don’t go very well on grayscale with no blending whatsoever.
However, that is a REALLY fucking awesome background. Beautiful.

How the effing hell was I being lazy about about my work? Do you think I just went on the internet and found a .png of that stock picture? Hell no, I had to cut it out, and blend it well with its surroundings to make sure it didnt look pixelated. Not to mention the fact that this sig had about thirty layers to it. Everything besides the Samus image (that I screencapped from my VBA) is from scratch. So dont give me “lazy”.

And actually, focal points should never go in the center, and although the stock image on my signature may be smaller than most stock images used on most signatures, you should keep in mind that I didnt want to resize the image because it would more than likely look crappy. I didnt want to change the coloring on her by much, either. Though I do admit now, when I look at her face, it is too bright and yellowish … ah well. And … Daz … I think maybe you need to get a better screen or possibly adjust yours, because that background is definately not grayscale and it is blended. Dont know where you are getting that from.

When did I say stocks went in the center? I said they go either by the rule of thirds or near the edge. Please don’t put words in my mouth. And I said the stock wasn’t blended into the background, not that the background wasn’t blended.
And if the stock can’t be resized, maybe you just need to pick another one.
Oh, I know you never said that stocks go in the center, I was just looking at your signature.
How would you suggest going about blending the stock into the background more than it all ready is?

Anyway, the point of my post: The colors of Samus don’t fit in is what Daz is trying to say, I think. Saturated blue + orange/yellow doesn’t fit in with a low saturation green/gray background. It’s not hideous, it just could be better. If I were you, I’d desaturate Samus a bit… somehow. I dunno if just direct desaturation would look good.
I’m colorblind. It looks grayscale to me. >_>
