Corruption had some nice graphics, but some really bad ones too.
Same with Brawl, and Galaxy really impressed me with it’s graphics.
too true
I really wish gamers would get off this “Nintendo hates us” trip. Nintendo is still making games for the hardcore crowd, however, they are taking longer because Nintendo is busy trying to address the new crowd that they’ve found to be a vast amount of income. This is not necessarily a bad thing. All it means is that Nintendo is trying to find a new approach to gaming, one that doesn’t rely on graphics or their hardcore crowd, which is more than happy to turn around to another company the second their company no longer targets their exact needs.
Get this: The Wii was a test. Nintendo not only tested if motion sensing was a viable idea, they tested whether or not the common populace would play a video game. And guess what? They succeeded.
Nintendo’s next console will destroy any and all competition. Now that Nintendo’s got motion-sensing under their belt, all they have to do is catch up in the graphics race, a relatively easy task. While the rest of the companies are fiddling with this new technology, perfecting it, Nintendo will be working on games that utilize motion-technology as well as next-gen graphics.
But seriously, get off the high horse. Nintendo has plenty of games on the way for us Hardcore gamers, just give them time. Ride it out. Remember, making a game is no easy task. You just can’t whip out a console quality game every year. It would be crap. Games take time. A good console game will take 2-3 years to produce. The only reason Microsoft seems to have the ability to bend this rule is because A) They’ve got massive production teams, and B) They swooped up tons of contracts with developers who already were working on their games.
Nintendo can’t just spit out good games one after another. Quit complaining about the lack of “hardcore” games, because they are on their way. And I can guarantee that when they get here, we’re gonna be blown out of the water.
two words…Wii Music
but on a more serious note, part of the problem here is that nintendo has absolutely botched the online this round, I mean with these bullshit 16 digit codes and the another 12 digit code for insert game here that’s just bullshit ninty needs to patch that the fuck away
The codes aren’t actually necessary. If I remember, Corruption just used the Wii friend codes… any friends you added on your wii were available in-game.
…
so I have no idea why they still use them for some games =/
What is your point? As far as I can tell, you’re simply reinforcing exactly what I said.
I lost hope at E3. E3 is a hardcore event, they talked of nothing but casual games, and seriously: who the hell was that woman?
Nintendo announced before E3 that they didn’t have any big news for hardcore gamers at E3 <_<
Don’t remember exactly how they put it, but I believe they promised that those games were in the works and they would release information on games targeting hardcore gamers later in the year.
I didn’t follow the pre3 stuff, but Reggie (REGGIE!) said hardcore gamers would be happy ![]()
Erm… isn’t Iwata>Reggie? <_<
but on GTTV Regie said that Nintendo core gamers would be getting “Big News”
all we remotely gave a fuck about was wiimotion+, Animal Crossing and the “pickmin title in teh workz”
and seriously who the fuck WAS that woman?!?
She was a Nintendo Rep. That’s all we know. All I know is she was fuckin’ annoying.
But Nintendo did toss us a couple things after E3. Remember that press conference in…October? I think it was October. That’s when we learned about the DSi, among other things. I believe that the Pikmin and Prime ports were announced then too.
Someone who’s not coughing so hard that it feels like a nail is being driven into their forehead (me) should provide sources. I’m going to bed now, and it’s only 8:45.
360 and PS3 has current gen graphics.
Wii has last gen graphics.
I wouldn’t go that far.
I’m not saying the Wii is up to par with 360 or PS3…not by a long shot.
However, the Wii is a hell of a lot more powerful than anything last gen.
I think it’s something like 3-4 times as powerful as the Xbox, which isn’t that bad.
the processor is only like 100MHz better than the Xbox but the GPU is 3-4 times as good
Well we’re talking about graphics, so I think the GPU is what we need to look at. >_>
its a good thing graphics have nothing to do with gameplay
graphics DO NOT make the game
theyre nice, but honestly my favorite game of all time comes from the 8-bit generation =D
@Syntax Man
You can’t just compare the Mhz and shit.
It makes Wii look like worse crap than it really is.
CPU
Wii: 729Mhz PPC
Xbox: 733Mhz x86 (A custom P3, but who cares? It still is four Mhz faster!)
GPU
Wii: 243Mhz ATI
Xbox: 250Mhz nVidia
RAM
Wii: 88MB
Xbox: 64MB
Max resolution
Wii: 720x480px
Xbox: 1920x1080px
Candy, the whole gameplay vs graphics thing is bullshit.
A good game will be made better by good graphics, it’s not some fight between them.
