Why the hell are they doing this for? You cant tell me they are trying
to compete with Halo… wtf?! Metroid and Halo are (supos to be) completly
different, it bugs the living heck out of me knowing that they keep trying
to overthrow the Halo fanbase, which is impossible.
Trouble is theres nothing you can do about it, here at least, go complain to nintendo if you want the date chaged, and as for the delays do you think nintendo puled echoes out of their asses? Do you think they will just pull corruption out of thier asses on he release date? Well if you do then your special and very very wrong.
Actually… Echoes was pretty bad. Both single and multiplayer (especially)
were lacking. Top it all off with a stupid and unoriginal plot and you got yourself
a game.
This may sound total fanboyish, but what Halo fanbase? Halo 3 is going to be exactly the same as 1 and 2. They’ve got a few new weapons, so what? I was not very impressed with Halo 2, simply because it was a repeat of the first. For example: Halo 1 was about a superpowered man/cyborg that blows up a big ring that can end life in the galaxy. Halo 2: The cyborg (MC if you haven’t caught on yet) is now being commerated for destroying Halo. Then, the antagonists attack (the covenant). So then MC is transported to a new Halo. OMG that’s so not repepitive (I say sarcastically). Then he leaves a massive cliffhanger! That is sad. At least Metroid Prime 3 is going to have a new control scheme. If I had a Xbox 360 and a Wii (which I already have. Yeah!), then I would buy MP3 over Halo 3. I prefer a new control setup with a continuing storyline than a repetitive style of gameplay with a already old story that should curl up and die.

Halo only really appeals to simple and shallow people that like to play the same thing repeatedly throughout the game. Anything more will confuse them. Shallow games for the shallow people =P. Metroid is so much more than that. To tell you the truth, if I had to pick a game and the choices where Halo 2 and Super Metroid…I would pick SM with no hesitation. I’d rather play 2:30 hours and be into the game an have a much long game with better graphics and be bored after five minutes.

I just hope that MP3C is worth every second I waited.
We already have a topic where you can flame Halo all you want, go there (but the topic is cursed, so don’t go there or even worse… post in it…)
i say that they do that type of thing (release a game in the same release date of a similar game) to try to ofuscate the other game (in this case Halo 3) and make MP3 shows in Magazines and Websites like IGN more than the competitor (halo3), like Half Life 2 made with Doom3, and some other games do all the time (and i mean Final Fantasy with all other RPG game)
The game is not out today, sobs, wal-mart has it in April 1-15 somewhere it there so (sometime after March) is right.
Meh you can hardly blame them, sure echoes was a small amount of work/time on Nintendo’s part, do you know why? It’s because they just used the old engine, added the screw attack and made new resources/areas.
Corruption is a whole different matter because they need to make a crapload of new stuff for the engine cause it’s ON Wii Christ>_>
You are wrong about the engine. They redid the engine and it was obvious.
Well I don’t program so it isn’t so easy for me (it is quite similar though at least)
I think it was in similar graphical boundaries cause MP pushed the cube as it was.
But if you look at most of the effects and think about the general themes you know (plus they said it publicly) that a new engine was designed.
The next Prime is gonna set the standard for Wii graphix, well, at least I hope so.
It will because TP was only slightly touched up, like OOT and MM were for TLOZ collector’s edition. Besides this new engine MUST have been drawn most of the reference from prime because the game play was quite similar
