Designs change all the freaking time, particularly in metroid.
Look at how she changes from Zero Mission to Prime to Echoes.

I think there could be flashbacks like that mother brain bit could be at the very beginning of the game and so fourth, and look at how much the pirates have changed, they go crazy when doing them… yeah and somethign else but I forgot…

about the suit… if you think about it, she Always lose it’s upgrades… game after game you need to get the upgrade again…
the only one that wasn’t like that was prime 3, and seriously? i didn’t liked…
the only think i can think about is how awesome the new samus desing is, not more a barbie girl, more brash, rough like… much more of a bounty hunter…
about the time machine, we are already 3… anyone else?
PS: remember that she is not using the varia suit in most of the footage, she is only using it in ridley battle and the space pirate finisher…
Minor changes, shoulder pad smaller and visor has change not that much. Come to think of it I think I have seen that suit somewere before, some old Nintendo site that has old game data uploaded and stuff… I think there using Gunpei Yokoi( the orginal creator of Metroid) Art in it with a few changes.
I mean her, not her suit. Young-Old-Young again. 
Maybe it starts at the end of super metroid…actually that would be pretty cool, the mother brain battle acting as a tutorial…that would be cool.

the visor is diferent from prime, and the lower part of the shoulder is bigger and there is no lights on the leg…

No, I have memorized each of the Suits designs…They are quite different.
1.Metroid
2.Metroid II, Super, Metroid, Smash Bros, Smash Bros Melee
3.Prime, Pinball
4.Zero Mission, Smash Bros Brawl
5.Echoes, Hunters, Corruption
6.Other M

That suit looks NOTHING like the one in brawl. It does, however, look EXACTLY like SM, minus the chest lights and arm cannon.

The Brawl suit was just the Zero Mission suit with a few minor details from Prime 1, i.e. the segmented mouth tubes.
Rundas: Not that this is the topic for it, but the visor is COMPLETELY wrong.
I have a LOT to say. First, DeProg is right. It goes from the explosion of Ceres to the window, which is the SAME CLIP so its a flash-back. Second. Yes, that arm cannon is screwed up. Third. I think that this is an entirely different game than SM or whatever. I think its a brand new development. Its the OTHER M. Not the Same M. And Finally. Kinda diggin’ the new suit. Looks cool.

But I’m worried that they’re gonna replaced everything good about Metroid with Japanese third-person fighting game elements, i.e. no atmosphere/exploration, but a lot of fighting and too much story.
Agree with Phlakes. And Daz it’s not that off. It depends on what angle your looking at. Look at her during the part where she says “I’m Samus Aran”.

By the way, the suit’s quite a bit different from Super… take the shoulder pads, for instance. They aren’t that smooth in Super. They’ve got… not exactly spikes, but two (or maybe three, bad memory) protrusions between the top and the sides.
Edit: There’s also quite obviously a number of flashbacks.
And there are soldiers in the background of the purple blob fight, although it’s not really clear whether they’re enemies or not.
Edit2: It’s quite possible that the two Ridley scenes are the same fight, and it’s the “lose all your junk so you get to go find it again” scene. You would generally have many many more energy tanks and missiles by the time you reach Ridley the second time.
