and… well, metroid had 2 samus clones already (SA-X and D-Samus), so, it will not be news…
and i hope there is some non-suit action too, i liked that zero mission part…

And DAMMIT! I am now convinced that this is a drastically changed Super Remake. All of the stuff fits…and The Power Suit is just the Varia Suit, with yellow, like most of SM’s sprites were. DAMMIT!!
See, I always viewed that as Alternate Dimension or Dimensional Rift. But I suppose it would fall under the same category.
Okay, Alternate Reality that completely changes the series storyline seems like a stupid idea.
In other words, I don’t support the idea that the chick in the labcoat was a Samus that had lived a different life.
I’ve basically decided that speculation is not a good idea right now. What that trailer was showing us was just random clips of stuff they have finished, IMO. Probably nothing too concrete.
All I can say is…

Just because it looks done doesn’t mean it is done.
Um, yeah… remember how much Prime’s improved between the first trailer and release? I’m pretty sure we can expect a similar level of improvement.
But there is a lot more than just the two Ridley fights which make us think that. For starters, the 5/0 missiles in the second image could imply that the fight takes place before losing your items, which means a Ridley fight at the beginning of the game. And anyway, there is little doubt that the Mother Brain scene is the same one from SM, so I’m pretty sure the game at least covers parts of SM… if the game takes place entirely after Super, then 90% of the cutscenes shown are flashbacks.
And, not that being a remake prevents any new characters, for all we know the black guy could be the dead trooper outside of Kraid’s room…
We are all wrong. It’s metroid 3.5.

That release date leaves plenty of time for TN to get things right… but it will be a long wait.

I really hope it’s not as restrictive as Fusion. I mean, I liked that Fusion took the series in another direction, but it was rather easy simply because you had a computer telling you what to do and where to go. It was somewhat frustrating to me.

if its between SM and MF… then the short haired girl is not Samus… cuz well, samus had long hair in the two games…

now i just want a short haired samus, cuz i loved that character desing… it’s so, diferent… so refreshing…
i think they going in the right path, just don’t be too restrictive as in fusion, and this is set to be the best Metroid game ever…

my guess is that ‘other m’ will be to fill in all the gaps we’ve had in the metroid series. adam malkovich, samus’s childhood, the mysterious power-suited guy in front of kraid’s hideaway. plus i think i saw rundas in that promo.
‘other m’ is just a way of saying it covers all the other things in metroid we dont know about.
anyway, that’s my two cents.
SM, Metroid: The other M, Fusion, I’m not buying it. If its is then why is adam alive, if so why did samus suit lost those SM shoulder pads and got new ones. On the Intro of Fuison she had Super Metroid shoulder pads so why these. I say this game is before Metroid Zero Mission(Metroid).
1up is the only site that has this, then why doesn’t IGN or any other have that information. I think someone made that up. Samus is far too long in those video for it to be place in between SM and Fuison.
Uh…she does have SM shoulderpads in the trailer…
At least, that’s what it looked like to me. >_>
Oh, and the series never specified when Adam died. So he could’ve died between SM and Fusion. Not that far-fetched.
